Meet Susie
Susie graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in May with a degree in journalism and a minor in media production. She joined Freeskier Magazine’s editorial team in March and is now the Associate Editor, where she writes both print and web stories, reviews gear and copy edits.
My Story
Originally from Texas, Susie has always found herself drawn to the great outdoors and the activities that come with it. Since coming to Boulder, Colorado, to study journalism, that fascination has only grown. While writing has always come naturally to Susie, capturing stories through a lens has become a new passion. She uses both mediums to tell stories, shine a light on issues facing the outdoor world and advocate for the places and communities she cares about.
If Susie isn't taking pictures or editing behind a screen, she is out on a trail, climbing a peak or shredding down a mountain, hoping her knees and Texas lungs don't give out on her.
Her passion for the outdoors and storytelling, whether by pen or camera, has led her to internships with The Daily Camera, Longmont Times-Call, PA work for creative Grace Williams with Skratch Labs and Freeskier Magazine.
